We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Merchants Tire.

I have seen credit given for the willow china pattern given to at least two different people. One would be Thomas Turner who is said to have introduced the famous design in about 1780. The original copper plate for his design was engraved by Thomas Minton and is still preserved at Coalport China. The most reported story says that the willow design was the creation of Josiah Spode, a derivation of an original Chinese pattern called Mandarin. Spode developed his willow pattern sometime around 1790.

The traditional willow design always features a large beautiful Chinese home with a willow tree, small bridge with 3 figures, a humble servants house at the foot of the bridge, a small Chinese boat & of course the famous love birds above the willow tree. The romantic lore of the design could have added to it's popularity over the years.

The story goes something like this.......

Long ago, in the days when China was ruled by emperors, a Chinese mandarin, Tso Ling, lived in the magnificent pagoda under the branches of the apple tree on the right of the bridge, over which droops the famous willow tree, and in front of which is seen the graceful lines of the fence. Tso Ling was the father of a beautiful girl, Kwang-se, who was the promised bride of an old but wealthy merchant. The girl, however, fell in love with Chang, her father's clerk. The lovers eloped across the sea to the cottage on the island. The mandarin pursued and caught the lovers and was about to have them killed when the gods transformed them into a pair of turtle doves. These are seen gazing into each other's eyes at the top of the design. A lengthy and old Staffordshire poem of the pattern concludes with the verse: "In the oft quoted plate two birds are perceived, High in the heaven above: These are the spirits of Chang and Kwang-se, A twin pair of ever in love".

Companies That Produce Willow China Due to Spode's obvious success with the Blue Willow design, many, many pottery & china companies went on to produce some version of it. Here is a list of manufacturers that I am familiar with that produced or still do produce Blue Willow.

Adams Adderly Alfred Meakin Allerton Barratt Booths Buffalo (restaurantware & hotelware) Burslem Churchill Coalport Cuthbertson Homer Laughlin John Maddox & Sons Johnson Brothers McCoy Pottery Myott Made in China Made in Holland Made in Japan Maruta Moriyama Pottery (Japan) Norcrest Ridgeway Royal China Royal Doulton Royal Wessex Scio Pottery (Ohio) Spode Staffordshire Syracuse China(Restaurantware & Hotelware) Wedgewood Wood & Sons

VARIETY OF WILLOW ITEMS As the popularity of Blue Willow grew & grew over the years many companies begin to make a variety of merchandise to coordinate with the customer's china pieces. You can find just about anything in Blue Willow including but not limited to: glassware, wallpaper, linens , tablecloths & towels, flatware & cutlery, picture frames, piggy banks, cookware, enamelware, fabric, tins, needlepoint pillows & kits, planters, candles, switchplates, items for bed & bath, soap dishes, even paper products including paper plated & napkins!

Besides numerous price guides written to aid collectors, there is a child's story book entitled BLUE WILLOW by Doris Gates. You might enjoy recipes from The Blue Willow Inn Bible of Southern Cooking.

In 2005 there was even an animated short movie made in New Zealand that tells Blue Willow's story of love & family betrayal.

The willow design is also made in red (sometimes called red transferware, or pink willow), green, brown & multicolored.

There are many Blue Willow pieces now being made in China. These are nice pieces to fill in your collection with & much more reasonable than antique or vintage pieces. There are sellers however that try to pass these newly produced items off as vintage or antique. Be sure you are buying from a reputable sellers. Also be sure what you are buying is actually blue willow. I have seen Flow Blue, Blue Onion, Blue Calico & other Blue Transferware advertised as Blue Willow.

The most valuable Blue Willow items are the early English, Staffordshire & Spode pieces. The Mid Century Made in Japan pieces are growing in popularity as well & can command a good price on unusual styles. There are quite a few restaurantware collectors out there too, so the heavy restaurant weight china usually does well.

I hope this has given you a little insight into collecting Blue Willow China ~ Have Fun!

Tire Service! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Pricing your auto detailing services for profit can be a daunting task. Underpricing the detail work you offer to customers is the quickest way to go out of business. Every aid you offer, from an covering wash to engine cleaning has a fair store value (a price at which both buyers and sellers are willing to do business), attached to it. If your goal is to be near or the top of that scale as often as inherent your professional skills should mirror the prices you charge.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the true about Tire Service. You see this article for facts about that want to know is Tire Service.

Incorporating a professional finding price sheet that shows the buyer your set prices makes it easier to get the price your skills call for. Many consumers think that it's bargaining time if you just quote the price verbally without referring to a price sheet or at least something you looked up on the computer.

When pricing a detailing job first take into notice the health of the vehicle you're asked to comfortable detail. Interior cleaning is one area that takes time, patience and thoroughness. An interior on one vehicle with a large soda stain on the front passenger seat might require two to three hours of time while other might only need an hour. Obviously, an Suv is going to require more of you and your pricing should reflect such. Let's assume your price for an median size car is 0; most Suv owners understand that although bigger might be better, bigger also means costlier. And not just a bigger body, but bigger tires, rims and more cargo space. Most car trunks will usually just need a good vacuuming, but because in an Suv what would be determined the trunk might be used as play space for the kids or seating space, more cleaning is required, so raising your price to to inventory for additional cleaning will not only sound fair but very reasonable.

How do you price for profit? comprehension the value of your time (labor) is the first step. Factoring in the cost of supplies and tool use is next. Last, but not least is your skills. Let's begin with supplies and equipment.

Figuring the cost of supplies and tool you'll use is relatively simple. Soap, water, tire dressing, even towels (cleaning) have an charge attached to them. On median it will cost to in supplies to detail the median size vehicle. Jobs that require purchasing additional supplies can be priced accordingly. What most detailers forget to factor when pricing a detail is tool cost. Not only does it cost to run the vacuum, but each time you plug in that hi-speed buffer think the cost of electricity to control it, then comprise the future charge of eventually replacing or upgrading. Sure, these expenses are small but keep in mind that updating your tool and consistent inventory upkeep is what keeps your firm growing.

How much is your time worth? That depends upon two things, the skills you've acquired and more importantly, your self-image. Anyone the going rate for a unblemished auto detail in your city, it should afford a professional detailer an annual wages in the ,000 to ,000 range assuming you control year round. That means your time should translate into a minimum of per hour. In many southern cities where winter temperature averages hover in the 40 to 50 degree range, it's not hard to pronounce a comfortably consistent income.

If you're not comfortable using buffers or have not yet learned to clay a car, you are limiting your financial possibilities. Get trained. This is where your skills come into play. I once quoted a inherent buyer a unblemished detail price higher than what he was used to paying. When I mentioned waxing and buffing during my exploratory conversation with him he swiftly said he did not want any type of buffer used on his car because of a former bad experience. Once I explained to him the differences in buffers, the relative risks involved, and how the detailer's sense comes into play when choosing and using orbital or high-speed buffers, he felt at ease enough to allow me to buff his car with a 16 pound orbital. Because I came over as knowledgeable, experienced and determined he felt comfortable paying a higher price.

I've found that the biggest obstacle to getting paid what a professional detailer thinks he should get paid largely depends on self-esteem. What makes one detailer think they can payment 5 when other detailer in the same store four blocks away is providing essentially the same aid but charging 0? Self-esteem! What are the skills and sense you've acquired worth? an hour, an hour, or maybe you believe you're worth even more!

It's all up to you. Pricing your services is an art. With each quote think the health of the vehicle, your costs, your skills, your knowledge, your experience. But most of all, think your time. You're worth what you believe you're worth!

Do you know about - First Aid - Why Do I Need To Know It?

Merchants Tire! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The first few minutes after an injury or medical emergency are the most crucial to determine the rate and duration of recovery. Knowing what to do in the event of an injury or emergency will help you stay calm and take the proper actions and precautions to help the victim have the best chances of a full recovery.

What I said. It is not outcome that the real about Merchants Tire. You check out this article for information on a person want to know is Merchants Tire.

How is First Aid - Why Do I Need To Know It?

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Merchants Tire.

For example, would you know when you need to call a doctor if you or someone you know gets a cut? Answer: Anytime a cut is deep, gaping or you cannot get the edges to stay together, you should call a doctor. Also, if you cannot get out some of the dirt, if the cut is a facial wound or bleeds for more then ten minutes, it needs professional attention.

If you work with other people, have children or spend time participating in sports or other hobbies that could result in injuries, you should know first aid. You never know when someone might get injured and knowing what to do to at least help them feel comfortable until professional help arrives will be so beneficial to the patient. Of course, you often cannot do it alone. It's important to have supplies on hand just in case of an emergency (and a box of adhesive bandages doesn't count as a first aid kit!) Having a well stocked first aid kit in your home and vehicle and a smaller kit in your purse or briefcase will ensure that you're prepared where ever you are.

In addition to knowing basic first aid skills, becoming certified in CPR is a great skill as well. Studies show that one out of every seven people has the opportunity to use CPR at least once in their lifetime. When someone is not breathing, their brain does not get the oxygen it needs and irreversible brain damage can occur within four to six minutes and death can occur within ten minutes.

Taking a course on first aid and CPR can help you help the people you encounter on a daily basis. Furthermore, knowing these skills will help you remain calm in the event of an emergency because you'll know exactly what you need to do.

Emergencies: How to Prevent Them or at Least Avoid the Detrimental Effects of Them

Emergencies happen; it's a fact of life. Here are some tips to help you prevent emergencies or at least to help you avoid detrimental effects if they do occur:

Medical Emergencies. The best way to avoid medical emergencies is to get yearly physicals and to make sure you take care of your body through exercise and proper nutrition. If you do begin experiencing out-of-the-ordinary symptoms you can often avoid major medical issues if you get it checked out early. Avoiding the doctor's office is not one of the best ways to prevent medical emergencies.

Auto Emergencies. First and foremost, make sure that you keep your vehicle tuned up. This is the best way to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Secondly, keep a first aid kit in your vehicle as well as an emergency roadside kit that contains flares, blankets, a shovel and a spare tire. Also make sure that everyone wears their seatbelts at all times and that children are secured in approved safety seats. To ensure that you're using the safety seats properly, follow the directions for your particular model. You can also go to your local police or fire station and have someone who is specially trained install your safety seats and show you how to properly use them.

Sports Injuries. If you or your children participate in sports, make sure that the athlete has a complete physical before participating. It's also important to learn proper stretching techniques to use before and after physical activity. Also, have access to first aid supplies whenever you are participating or watching a sport in case of an injury.

Taking precautions and knowing what you can do to prevent emergencies can help you make the proper decisions to keep you and your family safe.

First Aid Tips

1. Keep a list of emergency numbers near your phone. This list should include the numbers for the local police, fire, poison control, hospital and emergency contacts.

2. Keep well-stocked first aid kits in your home and vehicle. These first aid kits should include alcohol wipes, antiseptic, bandages, adhesive bandages, gauze, tape, burn cream, hydrocortisone cream, eyewash kits, cold packs, scissors, latex gloves, tweezers and index cards with the medical history (such as allergies) of each family member.

3. Keep a list of your medications in your wallet or purse. This list should include the name of the medication, the prescribing doctor, the strength, the doses and the regimen.

4. Before you hop in the car to take someone to the emergency room, do a quick evaluation to see if you need an ambulance. If you can get to the hospital relatively quickly, you might get there faster than an ambulance can get to you and back.

5. Prepare children on how to use 911. Teach them what to dial and in what occasions they should dial it. Also, by each phone have a card that lists your address and phone number.
